No beer tasting anymore :-(
Great tasting beer.
Discovered at the end of our Goolwa train ride. The owners somewhat hesitant to socialise as they were more concerned with working on their distillery. Not really a problem but we were keen to learn about the whiskey they made. Anyway we tried the medium peat single malt which means a smokier flavor on the taste buds. Unbeknownst to me they've been winning awards in the USA and is a favorite there as well as Melbourne and Sydney. Apparently few placds in Adelaide stock their whiskey with only Hains & Co about to setup a new whiskey room which will include their prize winning whiskies. If you'd like to try a shot save yourself a trip to Goolwa and go visit their online shop or Hains & Co. Salute!
I had to ask to taste the beer I was going to order. The guy serving said we don't normally let people taste the beer as it is award winning. I mean the place is a brewery...I am used to even quality pubs giving samples before buying. Other than that the place is nice and the beer I end up getting was OK.
Great whiskeys, great beers. Coffee if you don't drink either of those. Beautiful old wharf building with a nice view :)
